It’s late, and you’re exhausted from driving most of the day. But your son has been asking to play this nerdy board game for weeks. Do you:
(A) call it a night and leave the game set up on the floor, where it will irritate the crap out of you until it can be finished (likely not until tomorrow night) and may be damaged or otherwise strewn about the house by your other children and/or dog,
(B) call it a night and pack up the game without a winner, like some kind of freaking communist,
(C) call it a night and pack up the game, but only after taking copious photographs of the state of play, and each player’s relative standing and resources, in order to recreate the game at a later date – a complicated process you will dread, and likely put off indefinitely, thereby giving your son reason to doubt your commitment to ever completing the game and presenting you with an unwelcome opportunity to disappoint, or
(D) soldier the F on.
