It starts as a random half thought that you blurt out at dinner without much consideration. But suddenly, the air in the dining room crackles with electricity. Eight excited eyes gleam back at you with anticipation, and two more look at you like you’re either crazy or a genius. And before you know it, the Hogwarts-esque boys vs. girls Hamilton House Cup Challenge has begun. And the winner earns a cupcake and/or donut party. And Team Boys (to be referred to as either The Nightingales or Team Hawkfist, depending on which boy you ask) is running around looking for ways to earn points. And Team Girls (who don’t need a name, because “girls” says it all) is more sanguine, counting on the many ways that The Nightingales/Team Hawkfist is likely to *lose* points during the two week challenge. And you’re being asked to officiate points, and prepare a scoring matrix, and define your methodology for the few categories that allow for the awarding of “discretionary” points. And you haven’t really thought this through, and you have no idea how it’s going to go. But it’s gonna be a lot fun . . . provided you can figure out a way to make it come out a tie.
