We interrupt your regularly scheduled somewhat amusing bullshit to bring you this special somewhat inspirational bullshit.
Today marks the end of my 40th year, which was far and away the hardest year of my life. (Yes, there actually *are* some things I don’t post on social media). And yet, as horrifying as it was – really, we’re talking jungles of Vietnam hard – it was also incredible, and challenging, and rewarding, and fun, and it fostered growth in me which I had not believed possible. And even after my hardest year – seriously, 7th grade was a cake walk by comparison – my life was and remains so much better than I ever hoped or imagined it would be. So, as I embark on my 42nd trip around the sun, I count myself lucky beyond measure, and I know that with the right attitude, a little perspective, and a sense of humor, I can survive anything. I stand here more aware than ever that life is a gorgeous and humbling journey, and even at our best, we are all merely works in progress. Thanks to all my friends and family for all the love, which in the final analysis is all that really matters in life.
We now return to your regularly scheduled nonsense.
