Do You Hear The People Sing?

Do you hear the people sing,
Singing the songs of cranky men,
It is the music of a dude,
Who’s on a drive that will not end.
When the trooper on his ass,
Exits this damnable freeway,
He might drive fast enough,
To get home today.

Will you join in his crusade
Who will laugh at themselves too,
Though your nerves be worn and frayed,
And your balls, they may be blue,
“Ha ha!” is so much better
Than the words “boo hoo!”

Do you hear the Michael sing,
Singing a song to stay awake
He dictated it with Siri,
Blame her for the mistakes,
When his journey’s at an end,
And from his car he can get out,
He’ll watch Orange is The New Black,
Till he passes out.

He doesn’t know this part,
Something “banner may advance”
Writing lyrics is often hard,
An so is choosing decent pants,
Driving and singing require
A silly car dance!

Do you hear his children sing,
Probably bitching about bed,
They won’t brush their damn teeth,
Unless his wife predicts them dead.
When this never ending road,
Gets him back home eventually,
He’ll be said he missed this day
With his family.
